Sometimes you have to be the Character

Sometimes you have to wake up and realize that one of your dearest friends decided to leave you. Reasons are unexplainable. You cannot do anything to stop and change the decision made. All you can do is to accept and to move on. However, a true friend may leave you, but will never forget.

Eight out of your ten friends will spill out your secrets especially when you're not around. Some may betray you and will leave you for good. Others will be there when they need something from you and will immediately nowhere to be found thereafter. You can never call these people as your friends. They aren’t your enemies either. They’re just people who come and go, people who do not deserve to be treated as special. And I know, you, BEERDAY GIRL, este BIRTHDAY GIRL, are not this kind.

            You are one of my sweetest friends. You are my dear Natsko, Natskie, and Mizuno. You are my one and only NATS. You are my controversial “made in Japan” friend. You are my number one “burden.”

            I never knew you’d be this special. I never knew we’d be this close. And now, all I can do is to thank God for giving me the best “burden” of all. I thank Him for giving me a friend who can understand my worst being, a friend who can make me smile in my saddest moments, a friend who can cheer me up with just a hug and a friend who will forever and always be a true friend.

            Though we’re 4705 miles or 2541 nautical miles apart, which would give me a 6-hour-and-40-minute-travel-time to go there, we managed to keep this friendship. The kind which I may forget, I might neglect and I could just cut in a second but will never do so. This is the kind of friendship I wouldn’t want to meet its end. This is the friendship that I would fight for and would treasure as long as I live. Thank you for being my long distance friend, Nats!
